Research in the cognitive dynamics group, headed by Christopher Kello, is focused on emergent properties of human behavior and cognition. Emergence is defined broadly to capture global phenomena of coordination (structure, organization, order) that originate from local interactions among the components of a system. The current domains of inquiry include language structure and behavioral dynamics.
